Ingredients
  

Pudding Base
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large egg yolks lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract pure
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Method
 

Prepare the Pudding
  1. In a saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to boil.
  3. Once boiling, cook for an additional 2 minutes while stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in the egg yolks, vanilla extract, and butter until well combined.
  5. Pour the pudding into serving bowls and cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
