Frosting Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened at room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy.
  2. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
  3. Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, then beat on high speed for about 2-3 minutes until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  4. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more cream; if too thin, add more powdered sugar.
