Ingredients
  

Cake
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
Strawberry Filling
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
Crunch Topping
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Prepare the Strawberry Filling
  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Prepare the Crunch Topping
  1. In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and brown sugar until combined.
Assemble the Cake
  1. Once the cake has cooled, slice it in half horizontally.
  2. Spread the strawberry filling on the bottom layer, then place the top layer back on.
  3. Top with the crunch topping and serve.
