Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 2 pounds chuck roast or brisket
Spices
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Liquid
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed
Taco Assembly
  • 8 taco shells soft or hard
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Beef
  1. Season the chuck roast with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Place the seasoned beef in the slow cooker and add beef broth and lime juice.
Cook the Beef
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  2. Once cooked, shred the beef using tongs or forks and mix it with the juices in the slow cooker.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Warm the taco shells according to package instructions.
  2. Fill each taco shell with shredded beef and top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.
