Ingredients

  • 2 medium ripe avocados halved and pitted
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1 small red onion finely chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño seeded and minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro chopped, optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados with a fork until smooth or to your desired consistency.
  3. Add the diced tomato, chopped red onion, minced jalapeño, lime juice, and salt to the bowl.
  4. Mix everything together until well combined.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more lime juice or salt as desired.
  6. If using, fold in the chopped cilantro just before serving.
