Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti
Pesto Sauce
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves packed
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/2 cup olive oil extra virgin
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts toasted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Toppings
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese for serving

Method
 

Cook Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare Pesto
  1. In a blender or food processor, combine the basil leaves, parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic, pine nuts, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.
Combine
  1. In a large skillet, combine the cooked pasta and pesto sauce. Toss until the pasta is evenly coated.
Serve
  1. Serve the pasta topped with chopped fresh basil and additional parmesan cheese.

Notes
