Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk can substitute with almond milk
For the Crumb Topping
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup oats optional for extra crunch

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking pan by greasing it lightly with butter or cooking spray.
Mixing the Batter
  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients: milk and vanilla extract into the batter.
  5. Fold in the dry mixture gently until just combined.
Making the Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.
Assembling the Cake
  1. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan followed by half of the topping mixture.
  2. Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the crumbs.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
