  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 4 cups water (divided)
  • ½ cup sugar (or to taste)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 3 cups cold water
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Add dried hibiscus flowers and steep for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture into a pitcher, discarding the flowers. While warm, stir in sugar until dissolved.
  3. Squeeze in lime juice and mix well.
  4. Add 3 cups of cold water to dilute to taste. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
  5. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
